painted dancers

I began dancing at a very young age. Dance has been my greatest form of stress relief, therapy, and social connection. Like all art, dance is about expression. As a dancer and choreographer, I am driven to create a visual form of communication through movement.

Painted Dancers was inspired by that passion.

Knowing that no single photograph can encapsulate every emotion related to dance as art, my multi-image pieces convey the fluidity of movement. I combine pictures of dancers showered in paint with an overlay of digital hand drawings to provide my interpretation of movement and emotion. My manipulated pictures transform the normally static medium of photography into a form that does justice to the powerful flow of bodies in motion.
